“Smooth, Fluid Motion” is the expression that best describes the experience of riding a CRUSSIS scooter.

It’s not just for exercise, or only for recreation—IT’s a LIFESTYLE.

You can ride scooters almost anywhere you can imagine…You can use it as easily for shopping as you could for intensive physical training…You can ride alone, with the family, or with a group of friends…You can ride off on a big holiday adventure or just ride to the park with the kids.

The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

Reasons to Scooter

Riding your scooter is a breeze

Riding a scooter involves a smooth, natural motion that is comfortable and efficient for almost everyone. Scootering is perhaps the most flexible and convenient of all forms of human-powered transport. At any time, you can change instantly from zipping along the road or path to walking on a crowded sidewalk, simply by braking and stepping off your footboard. It’s easy to walk with your scooter and it even provides support for you. The change from walking to rolling is just as easy and simple: step on, push off. You can ride your scooter on the roads and in the bike lanes, or you and your children can avoid auto traffic by using the sidewalk (in most places) or the bicycle path.

Total body fitness & cardio

When you ride your scooter, you’ll be strengthening muscles, tendons and connective tissues throughout your upper and lower body. With all major muscles groups combined working together as you kick, you'll be increasing strength while improving your overall muscular system and health. Scooters are also great aerobic exercise, and combined with a healthy diet it can help you to lose or maintain healthy body weight... and have fun doing it!

Kick your way to better health

Unlike ordinary cycling, where only your legs move (and in an unnatural pattern) the effort of scootering is shared by muscles throughout the body and you move in much the same way you would when walking or running – the way your body is designed to move. Unlike running or jogging, however, the smooth movement of the scooter virtually eliminates jolting impact and is much gentler for your joints. Scooters use both upper and lower body muscles, together with the abdominal and back muscles. It’s a great way to strengthen and tone all those muscle groups and it is also excellent aerobic exercise – as vigorous or as relaxed as you prefer. Among scooter riders you will find amateurs of all ages and abilities, along with top athletes in training. Physical therapists recommend scootering as a supplement to rehabilitation, and to help maintain flexibility and prevent pain in the cervical and lumbar spine.

Fun for the whole family!

Riding a scooter is fun at any age or fitness level. Whenever you want or need to, you can easily step off and smoothly transition to walking. You can attach a seat to the handlebars and bring your baby or small child along for the ride. Your child sits safely in a seat between the handlebars and the parent, and you can share the experience as you kick along. It’s a safe and easy way of traveling with kids and fun for all. Riding scooters takes you into a world of fun! Whether you ride for exercise, just to relax, to run your dog or to commute to school or work, your scooter rides will provide some of the best experiences of your day.

Kicking around town

There is no better or more flexible way to travel in a city full of people than on a scooter. You will cover shorter distances much faster than walking, more comfortably than on an ordinary bicycle, and often you will arrive sooner than if you traveled by public transit. Scooters have excellent maneuverability and is less bulky than a bicycle. In most places, you will be able to use sidewalks, as well as bike lanes and paths, and of course the roads and streets where it is safe to do so. Wherever bicycles are permitted on buses, trams, ferries or subways, your scooter will be much easier to carry aboard and handle than an ordinary bike. Also, traveling by scooter means that you can wear the clothes that fit your plans for the day. If you want to wear a dress, a skirt or a suit, you can do so without worrying about wrinkles, tears, grease or other problems. Whatever you wear, it will be easy to ride your scooter, it won’t interfere with your attire, and you’ll look great rolling to your destination.

Effective fun weight loss

We all know that a combination of sensible diet and regular exercise is necessary to lose or maintain healthy weight. Unfortunately, many forms of exercise just aren’t fun for most people. Riding a scooter is fun, at the same time it is effective. If you scooter energetically, you can burn up to 30% more calories than ordinary cycling. During intense scootering, you can burn from 400 to over 800 calories per hour! At the same time, you will be toning and shaping problematic areas of your thighs, glutes, hips, abdomen and waist. Of course, it is up to you how intensively you ride – and however you do it, it’s just plain fun!

Practicality & easy maintenance

When you have to travel longer distances than you want to kick, your scooter is easy to transport in a car (both wheels are easy to remove and reinstall and there’s no greasy chain to cause problems) or by most types of public transit. You can equip it with a basket on the handlebars, a water bottle, fenders, panniers, or even a child safety seat up front. Lights and other accessories are also easy to mount. Thanks to our high-quality parts, the CRUSSIS scooter requires little maintenance. Just check the brakes and tire pressure before you ride and have your bike shop check it out and tune it up once per riding season – it’s much simpler and less expensive to care for than an ordinary bike.

Environmentally friendly

Riding a scooter combines a healthy lifestyle and a responsible approach to the environment. It is a means of transportation that doesn’t pollute the air with fumes or noise and its simple and elegant design means that fewer resources and less energy are used to manufacture, maintain and repair it.

Explosive power training for athletes

Scooter riding is a perfect way to practice explosive power training for athletes, improving power and speed for all sports. Energetic kicking helps strengthen ligaments, joint capsules and tendons. The effort is spread through the chest and back muscles, and the body’s core muscles – all being strengthened and toned. Kicking strengthens the abs, especially the rectus abdominis and the external oblique muscles, along with virtually all the leg muscles. With a proper kick you’ll also feel the ride in the arms and shoulders, helping shape your biceps, triceps and the deltoid muscles.

To make riding CRUSSIS scooters as easy, safe and comfortable as possible, we only use brand name components of worldwide manufacturers such as SHIMANO, TEKTRO, SR SUNTOUR, SCHWALBE, MITAS and others that guarantee high quality and long, reliable service.
CRUSSIS frames are designed and manufactured to meet rigid specifications and close tolerances and we choose only high-quality components that will provide you with long service and safe, efficient operation. Every scooter is assembled and inspected at our facility in the Czech Republic before being partially disassembled and securely packed in a heavy-duty carton for shipping. When it arrives at its destination, final assembly is quick and simple for the customer or for a local bike mechanic.

CRUSSIS scooters are designed both for beginners and for the most demanding advanced users. Our innovative frame design combines a shorter wheelbase for nimble handling with advanced geometry to aid control at higher speeds. Riders will also appreciate our longer footboards, which make foot changes and downhill positioning much more comfortable and efficient. Also important is the CRUSSIS combination of light weight and frame rigidity, achieved by providing special reinforcement at the most highly-stressed points of the frame. Cabling is routed inside the frame and under the footboard, to keep it safe and out of the way.

Most bicycle and scooter frames, today, are manufactured in huge factories in Asia. CRUSSIS scooter frames are proudly manufactured by European craftsmen and craftswomen in the Czech Republic. They benefit from our special expertise and from our experience in building bicycles and electric bikes. We are proud of them and we are confident you will be proud to own and ride them.
At CRUSSIS, we pay close attention to everything from the earliest design concept to the last final details of each product. One of our most distinctive features is that our bikes come in bright, coordinated and head-turning color schemes. When you ride a CRUSSIS scooter, you don’t only get a great ride, you get a great look, as well!
From the beginning of our design process through every stage of production and up to the last staple in the shipping box, we work to ensure that every CRUSSIS model is unique and perfectly suited for its intended use and that every single scooter we make is as perfect and as reliable as we can make it.

We employ unique solutions and inventions on our CRUSSIS scooter to make them the very best they can be. From the overall design to special technical details of the frame and footboard, these special features are patented and protected throughout Europe and the USA.

Duels Between Sports

Scooter vs Bicycle

Scooter riding uses healthy and natural movement. When you pedal an ordinary bike, only the lower portion of your body is actively involved, while the torso, hands, arms, neck and shoulders are mostly stationary and tense, which can lead to back and neck pain and stress on the hands (which may cause “cyclists’ palsy”), wrists and elbows (ulnar nerve damage). Riding a scooter, you use all of these body parts more naturally and with less stress, and you eliminate chafing and bruising of your bottom caused by the bicycle seat! Scooters are far more effective whole-body exercise. In addition to working the muscles of the lower extremities, it effectively includes the back, abdomen, chest and other muscles. A scooter is more flexible and allows you to react faster to obstacles in the urban bustle. When you get stuck in a crowd and can’t go farther, you can simply step off and walk – much more easily than you can from an ordinary bike. Stepping back on the footboard is just as easy. You can go as slow as you wish. You can turn on a dime and you won’t obstruct the flow of traffic. Also, you don’t have to keep throwing your leg over the seat or frame when getting on and off. A scooter is more manageable for parking, transportation and storage. It’s much easier to handle, thanks to its lower weight and simpler design. All its dimensions are smaller and there is no need to deal with the pedals and the seat when storing it. Both the front and rear wheels can be taken off quickly thanks to the quick-lock fasteners, which makes the scooter even easier to store. A scooter is much easier to maintain. No chain, no gears, no pedals or crank! Just a simple, elegant, efficient ride. Scooters naturally more maneuverable than an ordinary bicycle and there is much less possibility of falling. Also, because it is such a simple machine with fewer parts, scooters cost much less to buy and to maintain than an ordinary bicycle of comparable quality.

Scooter vs Skates

You don’t need special boots for a scooter. You can kick merrily along in normal shoes. Also, many places won’t allow skates and the process of changing into and out of them is time-consuming and annoying if you have to do it several times during an outing. You don’t worry about riding too fast through curves on a scooter, you can slow down safely and easily. CRUSSIS scooters have brakes that operate like ordinary bike brakes. With a scooter you can go into rough terrain. Smooth asphalt is the best surface for a city scooter but, unlike skates, it easily manages a little rough pavement or most railroad crossings (be careful and cross at a right angle to the tracks!). Heavy duty scooters manage rough forest trails or countryside terrain as well as mountain bikes.

Scooter vs Running

Scooters are much easier on your joints. When running, you repeatedly and jarringly transfer all your body weight onto just one foot, ankle, leg, knee and hip. That creates huge stress for the joint system. On a scooter that stress is minimal as your body weight is evenly distributed between your standing leg and your body leaning on the handlebars. Jolting impact on your joint system is virtually non-existent. Your body is not under constant stress on a scooter. You can regulate the level of your work load more easily on a scooter. You can vary the intensity of your kicks or you can just stand on the scooter and rest while going downhill.
